IGI Global Scientific Publishing is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to work as part-time (flexible hours, no more than 20 hours per week) interns for multiple departments within our company.

Qualified candidates should have high attention to detail, be able to meet established deadlines, and work well independently. All interns will need to possess excellent written and verbal skills.

Editorial Assistant (Book Development)

IGI Global Scientific Publishing is immediately seeking an Editorial Assistant to join our fast-paced, cohesive Book Development Team. In this role, you can utilize your skills to support the growth and success of book publications. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of vetted and well-crafted scientific research content, for both print and digital distribution, according to its planned schedule of publication. You will regularly consult with our authors and editors and coordinate all necessary activities and tasks needed to prepare the materials for our production teams. This position plays a crucial role in engaging our researchers and product preparation. We are looking for a candidate with a collaborative spirit, a “get-it-done” attitude, and a passion for supporting individuals and driving business growth. This is an exciting opportunity to impact content development, refine your skills, and build lasting relationships with academics and professionals across various fields and disciplines. The individual will be based at the company’s Hershey office.

Position Objective:

The Editorial Assistant in Book Development is the primary point of contact for the authors and editors providing the content for IGI Global Scientific Publishing book publications. The Editorial Assistant is responsible for guiding the development process for each project he/she/they is/are responsible for overseeing and answering any questions from contributors and working with those authors and editors to ensure that all projects are completed on schedule.

Essential Functions:
  • Work with an assigned set of publications, ensuring the successful development of content.
  • Serve as a principal liaison to our authors and editors, provide instruction and guidance, as well as employ positive motivational techniques to maintain momentum and engagement.
  • Maintain book project schedules and tracking, keeping assigned set of publications running on time.
  • Access content in company’s online manuscript submission management system and provide developmental feedback to the authors and editors regularly.
  • Utilize project management tracking tools to monitor projects and provide regular reporting.
  • Update internal teams on weekly metrics, sharing progress made across all projects.
  • Ensure that all content coming in meets ethical and formatting requirements and guidelines.
  • Light manuscript editing and formatting may occasionally be required.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications and Journalism, or a related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in an editorial capacity is preferred but not required.
  • Experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office and virtual meeting tools. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with project management software experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize multiple daily tasks and long-term projects in order to meet deadlines.

This position is integral to engaging researchers and facilitating seamless product preparation. Position Objective:

The primary responsibility of the Editorial Assistant in Book and Journal Production is to maintain the timely and consistent production of books and journals under IGI Global Scientific Publishing. Upholding IGI Global Scientific Publishing’s emphasis on quality, service, and image, the Editorial Assistant supports editors and authors in the proofing and finalization of their work, ensuring that materials are efficiently prepared to move into their final print and electronic format.

Essential Functions:
Please note that expertise in the software and processes noted below is not expected as full training will be provided:
  • Organizes materials provided by the pre-production divisions of IGI Global Scientific Publishing for the final stages of print and electronic preparation.
  • Submits files for editor/author proofing using a proprietary application where HTML versions of chapters are uploaded to the proofing platform for contributor review.
  • Reviews, approves/rejects, and implements author/editor revision suggestions while reviewing Microsoft Word documents for quality and house style.
  • Executes styling and formatting on the materials and manages the creation of InDesign files through a proprietary application.
  • Marks up contents and converts to XML.
  • Utilizes a proprietary application to lock the publication prior to its upload to the printer once all publication materials and covers are formally finalized and approved.
  • Maintains ongoing prioritization of multiple book or journal projects at one time to comply with print deadlines.
  • Maintains continual, open communication with various editorial departments to ensure publications are accurate and complete.
  • Ensures that all tracking and reporting properly reflects the status of the book or journal being worked on.
  • Applies after-print revisions as needed.

Vice President of International Sales

IGI Global Scientific Publishing is seeking an experienced, motivated, and energetic individual to oversee the company’s international sales strategies and operations. The Vice President of International Sales will collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure the company’s strategic goals are met through an effective international marketing and sales strategy, resulting in a significant increase in sales and return on investment (ROI). The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, and leadership capabilities to drive campaigns that significantly expand the company’s international market. This position is based at the company’s New York City office (250 Broadway, Suite 620, New York, NY 10007).


Position Objective:

The Vice President of International Sales will collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement strong and effective strategies for managing and expanding the company’s overseas markets, ultimately driving significant sales growth for IGI Global Scientific Publishing publications. The ideal candidate should be capable of managing existing partnerships while identifying and explor-ing new partnerships and opportunities to maximize sales and profitability. They will work closely with key stakeholders worldwide to expand the company’s global market share. The individual should also be able to effectively lead and motivate a sales team to meet the needs of custom-ers and partners. The role also involves acting as a business representative and brand ambas-sador at major international industry events, conferences, and trade shows, attending key events to generate leads and executive sales strategies that optimize sales growth and profita-bility.

Essential Functions:
In coordination and under the supervision of the President and the CEO, the Vice President of International Sales will plan, manage, and execute the following tasks:
  • Lead all initiatives in support of successful international sales and marketing campaigns for IGI Global Scientific Publishing publications throughout the world.
  • Work very closely with all IGI Global Scientific Publishing partners worldwide to make sure they are actively pushing for IGI Global Scientific Publishing titles.
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities, distributors, and partnerships in international markets.
  • Participate in weekly strategic discussions for the company and present results of different initiatives and programs executed in support of various international programs of IGI Global Scientific Publishing all over the world.
  • Set weekly and monthly initiatives to meet determined goals.
  • Identify and pull publication lists for appropriate global partners for the partners to share with their customer base.
  • Identify and review promotional materials developed for the international markets, and plan for sharing with partners on a regular basis.
  • Visit major academic libraries in major markets to promote IGI Global Scientific Publishing titles.
  • Manage all conference activities including planning, registration, and working with the design team of IGI Global Scientific Publishing in support of the design of the booth layout, set up and tear down activities, promotional and advertising opportunities, and identifying and communicating materials to be shipped for use at each event.
  • Represent IGI Global Scientific Publishing at different international conferences and other industry events as called for, as well as visit current and prospective client institutions to generate leads and strengthen relationships.
  • Interact with other IGI Global Scientific Publishing departments including Executive, Operations, Accounting, ITC, and Editorial Content on different initiatives which will be beneficial to the company’s international sales initiatives and increase worldwide brand recognition and presence.
  • Participate actively in the content development and design for the IGI Global Scientific Publishing company website which will be helpful and supportive of the international customers and sales.
  • Stay informed about current market trends and conduct regular competitor analyses to assess how IGI Global Scientific Publishing addresses market gaps.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
