Introduction

Innovation in higher education is crucial in today's society due to the rapid evolution of technologies, labor market demands and globalization that require adaptive and critical skills in students. Research in this area allows for the development of more effective teaching methodologies, the integration of digital tools and the promotion of active learning intended to respond to the different needs of the student population.

Objective

The book will aim to provide interdisciplinary contributions that include research related to current educational challenges. It will be written for professionals who want to improve their understanding of different levels of educational innovation such as project-based learning to promote investigation, collaboration and practical application of knowledge; the use of emerging technologies such as the incorporation of artificial intelligence tools in the educational context; game-based learning to promote active learning and increase motivation among students and education towards sustainability.

Target Audience

The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and researchers working in the field of education who want to share innovative educational experiences which display a novel perspective within the social context in which we live nowadays. The different chapters of this book will allow authors to expand current knowledge on pedagogical foundations. It also approaches new perspectives through reflection and research that add new meanings to theoretical knowledge, thus facilitating interdisciplinarity and collaboration between different fields of knowledge.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before December 8, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by December 22, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by February 9, 2025, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Challenges of Educational Innovation in Contemporary Society. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
