Abstract

The environmental problems around the world are pushing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to implement strategies that include sustainable ecological systems, agile, lean, and environmentally friendly manufacturing, and adopting cost-effective and competitive strategies to protect their position in a competitive business environment. Operations carried out by MSMEs cannot be separated from the emergence of environmental impacts because every activity to generate value-added also generates waste. All supply chain management units contribute to environmental problems. This article presents the importance of adopting GSCM in achieving business process performance, which will also improve the performance of MSMEs. This study offers a conceptual framework for GSCM adoption, business process performance, and MSMEs performance. It also offers propositions on how GSCM adoption can create business process performance and SME performance.
