Pınar Dinç Kalaycı is a distinguished professor of architecture at the Department of Architecture, Gazi University, Turkey. Her academic career spans teaching, research, and practice, with a strong focus on advancing architectural education and fostering innovation in design studio pedagogies. She has gained international teaching experience as a visiting instructor in Belgium, Rome, and Ljubljana through various academic mobility programs.
As the coordinator of StudioThinkImagine, one of the department’s design studios, she has guided students to achieve numerous awards in national and international architectural design competitions. Prof. Kalaycı has published extensively, authoring articles in Turkish and English, editing two books, and presenting her work at prominent conferences worldwide. Her research interests include architectural education, design criticism, programming and post-occupancy evaluation, user-centered design, AI use in design studio and the role of competitions in shaping architectural practice and pedagogy.
She has served as a jury member in prestigious architectural platforms, including the World Architecture Festival in 2019 and 2020. With her multifaceted expertise, Prof. Kalaycı continues to contribute to the academic and professional discourse on architecture, bridging theory and practice to shape the architects of tomorrow.
