Romina Alkier Tomić , PhD. is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Opatija, University in Rijeka, specialised in the field of tourism. She graduated at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Opatija, University of Rijeka. At the same institution she finished her Master of Science and Doctoral studies and got her PhD in tourism. She teaches Introduction to Tourism, International tourism, Safety in Tourism, and Rural Tourism. She published numerous scientific and professional papers in relevant scientific journals and conference proceedings, as well as 2 books. As a researcher she participated in several scientific and professional projects. She was the leader of the scientific project „New security paradigm and valorisation of a tourist destination“. Currently she is the leader of a scientific project titled “Perception of Kvarner as a Tourist Destination for Beauty and Health”. Numerous students got their Bachelor and Masters degrees under her supervision. She reviews papers for scientific journals and conferences, participates in organization of scientific conferences, as well as in programs of lifelong learning. Her research topics are: International Tourism, Safety in Tourism and Rural Tourism.
Giuseppe Catenazzo is the Dean of Academics at Helvetic Business School and the Head of Research at AUS American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland. He also teaches Market Research, Operations Management, and Statistics at several institutions in Switzerland. Giuseppe is an Italian and Swiss citizen. He studied in France, Italy, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom and speaks several languages. Dr Catenazzo is also an editor of international research books; his research on quality perceptions, service recovery, and complaining behaviour has been published in Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management, and the Journal of Consumer Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction & Complaining Behavior.
Vedran Milojica , univ. mag. oec. is a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Rijeka, Republic of Croatia. His career spanned from tourism and hospitality, to finance, and higher education. Vedran was a Lecturer at a private university of applied sciences, where he taught multiple courses in tourism and hospitality, marketing and methodology of scientific research. He participates actively in various scientific and professional education programmes and contributes regularly to the organising committees of scientific conferences and congresses as an external associate. He is also the secretary of the Journal of Economics, Management and Informatics BizInfo (Blace) and reviews scientific papers for scientific journals. He published a significant number of scientific papers in scientific journals and proceedings of international conferences. His areas of research include specific forms of tourism, such as Health Tourism, Rural Tourism, Nautical Tourism, Event Tourism, Gastronomic Tourism, Cultural Tourism, Religious Tourism, Urban Tourism, Beach Tourism, as well as International Tourism, Tourist behaviour, and safety and security in tourism.
Aleksandra Zając is a social scientist specialising in security studies. She holds master degrees in International Relations and in Philosophy. She earned her PhD in 2019 based on a dissertation about customer orientation and improvement of services of the Polish Police. From 2016 until 2021 she worked as an Assistant Professor at the State University of Applied Sciences in Racibórz, Poland, teaching both security professionals (policemen, prison and border guards, soldiers) and civilians. From 2022 to 2024 she worked as Researcher at the American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland, building research capacities of the school. In May 2024 she became Chancellor of Swiss Institute of Management and Sciences. Beyond academia her professional experience include Anti Money-Laundering and paralegal services for business. She also served as United Nation Junior Legal Expert on Poland (2021).
