Editor/Author Biographies
Lara Carneiro earned her BSc in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Education Science at the University of Porto, Portugal (2023). Dr Carneiro holds a BSc in Physical Education (2009), a Masters degree in Physical Education (2012) and a Doctorate in Sports Science (2017) from Portugal. Carneiro currently works as an Assistant Professor at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in the College of Education. She serves as an editor of Combining Exercise and Psychotherapy to Treat Mental Health, published by IGI Global, which earned a 5-star rating from Doody’s Review Service. She also has experience in designing, implementing, and managing randomized controlled trials (efficacy of exercise and psychotherapy). Dr. Carneiro is also a Management Committee Member of funded research projects (e.g. CA21123 - Cancer- Understanding Prevention in Intellectual Disabilities (CUPID). Dr. Carneiro is an external expert in the remote evaluation of proposals -COST (www.cost.eu) and her research focuses on physical activity, depressive and anxiety disorders, and mental illness, including physical health co-morbidities.
Dr. Felipe Barreto Schuch holds a full degree in physical education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008) and a master's degree (2011) and a doctorate (2015) in Medical Sciences: Psychiatry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Coordinator of the research group on physical exercise and mental health at UFSM. Master's advisor in the Graduate Program in Movement Sciences and Rehabilitation (UFSM). Member of the task force on lifestyle medicine for depression of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry and the task force on physical exercise and nutrition for bipolar mood disorder of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Listed as one of the most cited authors in the area "Psychology and psychiatry" in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 in the list of Clarivate/Web of Science. Listed, by the researcher.com, in the second position in Brazil and in the 363rd position in the world in the "2022 Rising Star of Science Award", for all areas of knowledge. He is currently associate editor of the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry (JBP), Frontiers in Psychiatry and Mental Health and Physical Activity and a member of the editorial board of the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry (RBP).(130fc45a-6884-4069-a0ba-54b3dc2f0326)
