Article Processing Charges
Article Processing Charge (APC):

Payment of the APC fee (directly to the publisher) by the author or a funding body is not required until AFTER the manuscript has gone through the full double-anonymized peer review process and the Editor(s)-in-Chief at his/her/their full discretion has/have decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-anonymized peer review process.

What Does IGI Global Scientific Publishing's Open Access APC Cover?

In the traditional subscription-based model, the cost to the publisher to produce each article is covered by the revenue generated by journal subscriptions. Under OA, all the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license; therefore, the authors or funding body will pay a one-time article processing charge (APC) to offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including:

  • Digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process
  • Typesetting, formatting and layout
  • Online hosting
  • Submission of the journal's content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
  • Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
  • Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
  • All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents
  • The fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by
    the authors
  • Professional line-by-line English language copy editing and proofreading*

*This service is only performed on article manuscripts with fully paid (not discounted or waived) APC fees.

Reviews & Statements

"Current IS journals address KM and KM-related issues but few, if any, academic journal are devoted to the pursuit of knowledge research. The International Journal of Knowledge Management will provide a forum for both academics and practitioners to share their research in all areas associated with knowledge management. In doing so, the journal fills a void and provides a high quality outlet in which to publish KM-related scholarly work."

– David Croasdell, University of Nevada, Reno, USA

"Knowledge management is an emerging academic field that requires high quality journals as a venue to share our research, sustain the standing of the discipline within academic institutions and provide practitioners with a valuable source of ideas about groundbreaking work in the area. The International Journal of Knowledge Management is able to address all these roles to a high level because of the calibre of the editor and standing of the editorial board members in the Knowledge mangement community.

– Henry Linger, Monash University, Australia

"As the Chief Editor of IJKM, my research and editorial expertise align closely with the journal’s mission to advance knowledge management theory and practice. With over 30 years of academic experience, my work spans knowledge management, open innovation, ICTs, and organizational learning—core themes of IJKM. My contributions, including over 200 articles, 50 book chapters, and 25 edited books, provide valuable insights into how knowledge is created, shared, and applied in diverse organizational contexts. Through my editorial leadership, I strive to uphold the journal’s commitment to publishing high-quality, impactful research that shapes the evolving landscape of knowledge management."

– Hakikur Rahman, Presidency University, Bangladesh
